Social Media manager

Our rapidly growing, Colorado Springs-based, digital marketing agency, Succeeding Small, is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and eager-to-learn member of our team. The ideal copywriting candidate will be able to craft narratives, embody brand identities, and pack-a-punch with persuasive writing that is designed to engage and convert. They will help small businesses get the visibility they deserve by writing and creating compelling content for websites, social media profiles, blog posts, ad copy, press releases, and more.
 

Additional Details 

  • Part to Full Time positions available (minimum of 10 hours per week is required)
 

This Role Will: 

  • Write copy for a variety of placements: website, social, advertisements, print, etc.
  • Develop and embody the necessary tone, brand persona, and business goals for dozens of small business clients
  • Write for various audiences, while thinking critically about their needs
  • Create dynamic, interesting, and grammatically correct sentences
  • Craft compelling narratives that drive engagement and action
  • Research brand history, competition, and similar writing genres to emulate successful tactics, while offering a fresh, unique perspective
  • Work in conjunction with the Succeeding Small team, (web designers, social media managers, and brand creators) to ensure all messages align with brand and purpose
  • Once experienced, you will also be editing and proof reading other copy and making sure it aligns with client brand, SEO, and appropriate digital medium

Ideal Qualifications

  • A strong background in rhetoric, persuasive writing, or copywriting 
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple client voices and tasks each week
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently without sacrificing the quality of copywriting
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve, while participating in a team environment
  • Experience writing for digital preferred but not required
  • College Student of or Bachelor’s Degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • You are based in the Colorado Springs area or willing to travel to Colorado Springs on a weekly basis for Friday team meetings (10:30-11:30 a.m.) 

What You Will Learn As A Copywriter At Succeeding Small:

Education is our number one value at Succeeding Small. This position will help you sharpen your existing writing skills as it applies to persuasive copy in various digital formats. Copywriters will learn:
  • A deep understanding of Search Engine Optimization and how to write for both the algorithm and the audience
  • Each of the different formats of writing (for websites, social, ads, etc.) and the stylistic and strategic choices that will effectively carry your message using SEO
  • Branding: creating taglines, branded vocabulary, tone, and intentional messages for small businesses
  • If interested, you will also learn what it means to teach others your skill set through the Succeeding Small internship Program

About the role:
Our rapidly growing, Colorado Springs based, digital marketing agency, Succeeding Small, is looking for a technically inclined, passionate, and eager-to-learn member to join our team.

  • Write copy and design graphics for a variety of different clients’s social media including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Linkedin
  • Develop and embody the necessary tone, brand persona, and business goals for dozens of small business clients
  • Write for various audiences, while thinking critically about their needs
  • Create dynamic, interesting, and grammatically correct sentences
  • Craft compelling narratives that drive engagement and action
  • Research brand history, competition, and similar writing genres to emulate successful tactics, while offering a fresh, unique perspective
  • Work in conjunction with the Succeeding Small team, (web designers, SEO Specialists and brand creators) to ensure all messages align with brand and purpose
  • Once experienced, you will also be editing and proof reading other copy and making sure it aligns with client brand, SEO, and appropriate digital medium

Content Creation

  • Plan, write and finalize excellent, persuasive content for clients and for Succeeding Small according to tasks assigned by Account Manager that generates interest and lead for clients
  • Search engine optimize all content before publishing
  • Publish content using provided software
  • Design graphics and write persuasive copy for Social Media for many different types of clientele.

Content Management

  • Plan, write and execute content creation strategy for posts, stories, etc. in order to optimize SEO and generate leads for clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • A strong background in rhetoric, persuasive writing, or copywriting

  • WordPress experience preferred
