Our rapidly growing, Colorado Springs-based, digital marketing agency, Succeeding Small, is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and eager-to-learn member of our team. The ideal copywriting candidate will be able to craft narratives, embody brand identities, and pack-a-punch with persuasive writing that is designed to engage and convert. They will help small businesses get the visibility they deserve by writing and creating compelling content for websites, social media profiles, blog posts, ad copy, press releases, and more.
This Role Will:
Write copy for a variety of placements: website, social, advertisements, print, etc.
Develop and embody the necessary tone, brand persona, and business goals for dozens of small business clients
Write for various audiences, while thinking critically about their needs
Create dynamic, interesting, and grammatically correct sentences
Craft compelling narratives that drive engagement and action
Research brand history, competition, and similar writing genres to emulate successful tactics, while offering a fresh, unique perspective
Work in conjunction with the Succeeding Small team, (web designers, social media managers, and brand creators) to ensure all messages align with brand and purpose
Once experienced, you will also be editing and proof reading other copy and making sure it aligns with client brand, SEO, and appropriate digital medium
A strong background in rhetoric, persuasive writing, or copywriting
Excellent time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple client voices and tasks each week
Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently without sacrificing the quality of copywriting
Ability to work independently and problem solve, while participating in a team environment
Experience writing for digital preferred but not required
College Student of or Bachelor’s Degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
You are based in the Colorado Springs area or willing to travel to Colorado Springs on a weekly basis for Friday team meetings (10:30-11:30 a.m.)

A deep understanding of Search Engine Optimization and how to write for both the algorithm and the audience
Each of the different formats of writing (for websites, social, ads, etc.) and the stylistic and strategic choices that will effectively carry your message using SEO
Branding: creating taglines, branded vocabulary, tone, and intentional messages for small businesses
